The conference will kick off with an exciting panel presentation
featuring five highly successful Colorado women business owners,
describing their path to success. Each panelist will share her personal
stories of business creation and growth. Learn from and be inspired
by these Colorado women business owners as our moderator leads this
year’s panel through a lively, candid, and open discussion
about the challenges of entrepreneurship.

Beatriz Bonnet is president and CEO of Syntes
Language Group, Inc, an international communications firm. Ms. Bonnet
has led Syntes through steady revenue and profitability growth over
the years to become one of the most financially stable and respected
companies in the translation industry. Under Ms. Bonnet’s
leadership, Syntes Language Group is regularly listed on Colorado
Biz magazine’s Top 100 Women-Owned Businesses in Colorado,
Top 100 Minority-Owned Businesses in Colorado and Top 250 Private
Companies in Colorado. Syntes was also the recipient of the 2006
Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Minority-Owned Business of the
Year award.
Denise Burgess is President and CEO of Burgess
Mechanical, a heating and air conditioning business located in the
Denver area. Burgess Mechanical prides itself on professionalism,
excellent work and satisfied clients, and has successfully completed
numerous large construction projects for both public and private
sector clients. Ms. Burgess is very active in the Denver business
Community through various appointed and volunteer positions. Among
other commitments, she serves as a Commissioner for the Denver Urban
Renewal Authority, and a member of the Business Disparity Study
Task Force for the City of Denver.
Sharon Hwang is Owner of The Wellness Center,
a holistic health care center, and Pure Massage, a massage therapy
center. Following graduation from college, she spent two years in
the Peace Corps in Nepal, returning to Denver to complete a Masters
degree. She started her business in 2000. In 2005 Ms. Hwang was
honored with the Women’s Advocate Award given by the Colorado
Regional Office of the Small Business Administration. She has also
been honored as a top women and minority owned business by Colorado
Biz magazine in both 2004 and 2005.
Diana Nelson is President and CEO of Kazoo and
Company, Inc., a rapidly expanding landmark toy retailer, and KazooToys.com,
an online seller of quality toys. She also helped found the Good
Toys Group Catalog, a seasonal cooperative catalog for 70 privately-owned
toy stores around the nation. Prior to becoming a toy store owner,
Ms. Nelson owned and operated a massage therapy and holistic medicine
practice. Kazoo and Company, Inc. and KazooToys.com have received
numerous awards from the Toy Industry Association, including Top
Toy Internet Site 2006, and Top Toy Store in the USA in 2004, 2005,
and 2006. Kazoo Toys has been recognized by the Colorado District
Office of the Small Business Administration as one of the top 50
businesses in Colorado each year since 2003.
Cyd
Szymanski founded Nest Fresh Eggs, Inc. in 1991. Nest Fresh
Eggs products are cage, antibiotic and pesticide-free, and are distributed
widely throughout more than a dozen western states. The company
contracts for many of its products with small farmers who otherwise
could not compete with large agribusiness. Ms. Szymanski has been
featured in Entrepreneur and FASTCompany magazines,
and was recently featured on the cover of the January 2007 Millionaire
Blueprints magazine. She has received numerous local awards,
including the 2004 Small Business of the Year Award from the South
Metro Chamber of Commerce.
